SCM Summer Gathering Next Week

The Supply Chain Management summer event is fast approaching. The event is set for Thursday, August 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Orange Memorial Park in South San Francisco. We'll have some great food, games, a special contest and a raffle.

If you need a ride, please let us know, so we can see who can accommodate additional riders. If you have questions or comments, please contact Carol TadyXenia Lazareva or Sonya Valencia. See the map below for the event location.

Supply Chain News and Event Reminders

  • UCOP will be conducting Benefit Bank training September 7 at MCB. Training will include instruction on rules and processes using the tool and tips to make sure that staff is not spinning their wheels.  The training will also help us to understand how to calculate and claim efficiency savings and more. Even if you have had this training several years ago it is recommended that you attend this session. Details on where and when will come soon.
  • Article suggestions for the UCOP procurement newsletter are due to Carol Tady by August 9. If you have a story idea, please let her know as soon as possible. These can include announcements, events, recognition, tips and tricks and published articles.
  • If you have procurement news, announcements or tips you want to share with BearBuy users, please submit ideas and articles for the Supply Chain Management newsletter to Carol Tady. The newsletter comes out on the 15th of most months.
  • Registration is open for the NAEP District 6 Annual Meeting. Join your colleagues for three days of professional development, networking and continuing education in beautiful Santa Fe. There will also be presentations from your peers as well as panel discussions with vendors, procurement leaders and GPOs. For $300, this is an excellent training and networking opportunity for you or your staff.  Registration is available on the NAEP District 6 website

Logistics Featured in Shuttle/Digital Signage

You may have noticed that Supply Chain Management's Logistics unit is raising its profile with some new signage.  Colorful signs on 41 UCSF shuttles are bringing attention to the name change from Distribution, Storage and Mail to Logistics. The cards also outline the many services the department offers.

Logistics also is taking advantage of the digital signage in various campus buildings to bring attention to their moving and installation services. You can check it out in the Mission Center Building (MCB) lobby.

Kudos Korner

  • Melissa Gee says: Thank you, Tony Meno, for helping with the logistics of the Last Mile Package Delivery Program Lunch & Learn session. Your interactions with the attendees and the supplies you brought in your “event preparedness kit” contributed to the success of the event.
  • Also from Melissa GeeThank you, Susan Riddle, for all your efforts on the long standing gift card RFP. The RFP was at a standstill and you were able to help work through outstanding issues and several changes so we could finally get a contract signed.
  • Madonna Galiendes, Faculty Assistant at UCSF – Abdominal Imaging, gives praise to Ruvic de la RosaYou all are very amazing, thank you so much!
  • From Jane Goodman, Advancement Communications: I just wanted to say how wonderful it has been working with Bob Puerzer on our campaign communications RFP. Every time our team has reached out to him we have found him to be very responsive and helpful and, believe me, we have had lots of questions along the way. Bob is truly a professional, and our experience has been so much smoother than our previous engagements with Procurement. We are delighted to be working with him, and I hope that you keep him assigned to UDAR.
  • More thanks for Bob Puerzer from Jessie Steward, University Development and Alumni Relations: I wanted to thank you for all your help with the campaign launch event production RFP process. You went out of your way to ensure that everything went as smoothly as possible and we enjoyed working with you on this project.
  • From Karen Hamblett: Thank you to Carol Tady and Bryce Steslicki for all their work on the SCM Outreach and Metrics projects. We have made so much progress and we couldn’t have done it without them.  It takes a village, so I appreciate everyone’s help and input.  These two have gone above and beyond to keep the project moving and I’m grateful for their expertise, positive attitudes and perspectives.
