Additional Kudos for SCM Staff

We had some additional kudos that were left out of the latest blog post:
  • Oliver Ravela, the Program Operations Manager of the UC Berkeley Student Study Abroad program thanks Carlos Zepeda for going out of his way to support their office. Most recently, Carlos worked around their busy schedules to offer dedicated cardholder trainings:“Thanks again for working with our office on the training! I don't know if there's a way for me to pass along comment on for, what I feel, is terrific service on your part and on the part of card services as a whole. I'll say that our office very much values the cooperative relationship we have with Card Services.”
  • Shauna Strong, the Senior Administration Manager of UCSF Campus Life Services gives Jackie Galloway kudos for her outstanding support through the years: “I really just wanted to make sure the kudos that Jackie deserves are known. She has always been helpful over the years with the p-card program, and is so gracious whenever I have issues and helps me navigate what needs to be done.”
  • Thank you Sonya Valencia for assisting the SC Solutions Team with additional PO change orders and coordinating the Last-Mile Delivery Program Lunch & Learn room logistics and food.

Hellos, Goodbyes and Kudos

Editor's Note: You may have noticed there haven't been any entries into the Supply Chain Management (SCM) blog in quite some time. Now that the website is up and running and we've got some other projects underway, the blog will be back on a more regular basis. Thanks for your patience.

Also, welcome to the Finance Service Center Contracts and Procurement staff serving Capital Programs, Facilities and other units. We hope you'll enjoy the SCM blog and submit items to share as we work together and learn more about each other.

Sampior to Retire; Hanna Moving On

SCM is saying goodbye to two staff members. Logistics' Distribution Manager George Sampior (right) will retire this month after 25 years at UCSF and Analyst Ramsey Hanna Jr. is moving to a new position with Denali Consulting in Menlo Park.

“George has been a tremendous asset to the crew at Logistics and will be greatly missed by all of us and everyone at the University who has regularly interacted with him,” said Logistics’ Director Jim Sobczyk. “His plans in retirement: family and fishing! We wish George all the best because he is the best!!!”

"I consider him not only a valuable asset, but an enjoyable presence in our department," said
Syed Younis, Logistics Operations Manager. "His vast knowledge, of the University in general and our department needs in particular, was very valuable for our day-to-day operations."

Sampior was honored at a gathering on June 22.

Hanna's last day is July 3. There will be a gathering to say goodbye this Thursday, June 29, at noon. Drop in and give him your good wishes.
